Observations Through the Lens

Hank spent four decades working, and now mixes in a little real estate with a lot of photography.  He got into semiconductor sales in the early 1980s mostly by chance, and because it put him in front of people and problems he had to figure out — and he loved it. Over three decades he worked his way from sales into executive sales leadership, and along the way the job took him and his family through Georgia, Texas, and Charlotte before they finally put down roots in Cary, NC in 1996. It also handed him something he never expected: travel to nearly every U.S. state, and passports well-used across North America, Asia, and Europe.  Not bad for a career he mostly just fell into.

By 2013, though, something in Hank wanted to build again — this time on his own terms. So he walked away from a career he'd spent 30 years growing and founded Saye Triangle Realty, betting on himself in a business where you eat what you kill. It worked. Thirteen-plus years later, he stays involved in the local and national trends that impact buyers, sellers, and agents. These days he's found a role he genuinely enjoys: staying plugged into the market and quietly connecting past clients and friends with the area's best current talent.

In March of 2026, Hank did what he's apparently just wired to do — he started something brand new, again. This time it was photography, and specifically wildlife photography, which grabbed him for a simple reason: it's the rare hobby that requires adaptability, patience and precision, and constant learning.  Now he spends most of his time chasing Bald Eagles, Ospreys, other birds.  He is also building out a mammal portfolio, and occasionally wandering into landscape and travel shots when something catches his eye. None of it means much, though, without the people he does it for. Hank and Lisa have been married more than 40 years, long enough to have raised three kids mostly right there in Cary and to now have seven grandkids living just down the road in Holly Springs. They're a loud, close bunch — the kind of family that fills up a whole row wherever they go, and turns every vacation and holiday into something worth looking forward to. If you ask Hank what he's proudest of, it probably isn't the sales numbers or the closings. It's that.
